Benjamin Alire Sáenz
“Aristotle is an angry teen with a brother in prison. Dante is a know-it-all who has an unusual way of looking at the world. When the two meet at the swimming pool, they seem to have nothing in common. But as the loners start spending time together, they discover that they share a special friendship—the kind that changes lives and lasts a lifetime. And it is through this friendship that Ari and Dante will learn the most important truths about themselves and the kind of people they want to be.“
‘Sometimes pain was like a storm that came out of nowhere. The clearest summer morning could end in a downpour. Could end in lightning and thunder.‘
I’m going to be honest with you all. I was scared. I was scared to read this with all the five star reviews. Scared I wouldn’t like it or it wouldn’t live up to expectations but boy was I wrong to be scared. This book is probably the most beautiful story I’ve ever read and has become an instant favourite. This book has made me cry, happy and sad tears, and I know it has taught me things. It has taught me things about others, about myself, about the world. I’m in love with this book and I’ll hold it close to my heart forever.
